Where: All over Athens-Clarke County
What: StudioFest is a day-long Athens-wide art and craft crawl. Think of it as PorchFest for artists of all kinds, shining a light on the creative community of Athens through opening artist studios, galleries, makers’ spaces, and pop-up exhibitions and markets to art lovers and explorers. The day-long art crawl is free to the general public, with a map of all participating places available in print and online. ATHICA is homebase and information center throughout the day.

Much of the work is a visual reflection of my time spent in Michigan last summer by Grand Traverse Bay. Rather than depicting these landscapes directly, I set out to paint how they made me feel. Each piece is built with layers of paint applied entirely with palette knives and tools—a technique that both challenged and inspired me. Alongside pieces, playful abstract explorations with bold colorsand brushstrokes are presented on paper as well as canvas. These pieces are celebrations of color, movement in an organic fashion. |
