DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
Responsibilities: Work under the direct supervision of the ATHICA Director and with ATHICA’s Executive Committee to assist in the planning and execution of development events, including ATHICA’s annual Fall fundraising event; assist in the maintenance of the ATHICA membership program and database; assist in the execution of in-house mailings both physical and electronic; research prospective donors, foundations, and grants; draft correspondence; generate, design, and maintain marketing materials for print, press, and web; provide basic administrative duties such as docenting, supporting events, delivering packages, and running errands; support promotion, organization, and documentation of ATHICA’s special events.
Requirements: Professional demeanor; ability to complete work in an organized and timely manner; strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work both independently and under structured supervision. An interest in contemporary art and arts administration is helpful but not essential. Experience with the following programs helpful: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs/Sheets/Forms/Slides. This internship will offer insight into fundraising, stewardship and cultivation of donors, and public relations, among other aspects of operating a non-profit arts organization.
Schedule: Flexible. Minimum five hours a week. Some evenings and weekends for events as needed. SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP
Responsibilities: Work under the direct supervision of the ATHICA Director to assist in researching, drafting, and posting content for our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts. Other general communications and administrative tasks as assigned, including website and public relations.
Requirements: Strong writing and research skills; ability to work both independently and under structured supervision; strong interest in contemporary art and in digital media outlets. Experience with social media. Social media following a plus. Basic Photoshop skills a plus.
Schedule: Flexible. Minimum five hours a week. Some evenings and weekends for events as needed. If the applicant would like to get UGA school credit, their individual department policies would address total hours. MUSIC INTERNSHIP
Responsibilities: Work under the direct supervision of the ATHICA Director to assist in development and implementation of musical programming for ATHICA.
Requirements: Strong written and spoken communication skills; ability to work both independently and under structured supervision; strong interest in music and experience as a musician and / or in creation of musical events.
Schedule: Flexible. Minimum five hours a week. Some evenings and weekends for events as needed. If the applicant would like to get UGA school credit, their individual department policies would address total hours. POETRY INTERNSHIP
Responsibilities: Work under the direct supervision of the ATHICA Director to assist in development and implementation of poetry-related programming for ATHICA.
Requirements: Strong written and spoken communication skills; ability to work both independently and under structured supervision; strong interest in poetry and experience as a poet and / or in creation of poetry publications or events.
Schedule: Flexible. Minimum five hours a week. Some evenings and weekends for events as needed. If the applicant would like to get UGA school credit, their individual department policies would address total hours. Based on individual situation, a plan would be developed for the goals and duration of the internship

PHOTOGRAPHY INTERNSHIP
Responsibilities: Work under the direct supervision of the ATHICA Director to assist in photographic and videographic documentation of exhibitions and events for ATHICA.
Requirements: Strong written and spoken communication skills; ability to work both independently and under structured supervision; strong interest in photography and experience as a photographer; must have own equipment.
Schedule: Flexible. Minimum five hours a week. Some evenings and weekends for events as needed. If the applicant would like to get UGA school credit, their individual department policies would address total hours. Based on individual situation, a plan would be developed for the goals and duration of the internship

GALLERY INTERNSHIP
Responsibilities: Work under the direct supervision of the ATHICA Director to assist in installation and docenting of exhibitions for ATHICA.
Requirements: Strong written and spoken communication skills; ability to work both independently and under structured supervision; strong interest in art and art gallery operations; comfort with standard art-installation tools and ladders; customer service orientation.
Schedule: Flexible. Minimum five hours a week. Some evenings and weekends as needed for docenting. If the applicant would like to get UGA school credit, their individual department policies would address total hours. Based on individual situation, a plan would be developed for the goals and duration of the internship

EDUCATION INTERNSHIP
Responsibilities: Work under the direct supervision of the ATHICA Director and the ATHICA Education Committee Chairs to assist in development and presentation of educational programming and materials for ATHICA.
Requirements: Strong written and spoken communication skills; ability to work both independently and under structured supervision; strong interest in art and learning. College coursework or experience in K12 or adult education, lesson planning, and/or materials development helpful.
