David Noah, winner of ATHICA’s 2020 juried exhibition’s Future Show Award, is a writer and artist living in Winterville, Georgia. For his project “Masked/Unmasked,” he has taken dual portraits and collected personal statements on the nature of mask-wearing in the 2020 pandemic from over 70 individuals, more than a couple of dozen of which are included in this online exhibition curated by Lucy Reback, opening to the public through this website on September 26, 2020.
The artist is dedicating 30% of post-fee sales to ATHICA and 20% to the Athens Area Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Community Response Fund.

More About David Noah
David Noah is a writer and artist living in Winterville, Georgia. He retired from the University of Georgia in 2002. His background is in art education, educational technology, and darkroom printing. He has shown his work in numerous local exhibitions, and some of his street photography is collected in his book “Everything Mad with Love.” More is on his website: davidnoah.squarespace.com
More About Lucy Reback
In 2020 Lucille Reback completed her BA in photography from Bard College, Annandale-On-Hudson. Working primarily with the large format view camera, Reback lives, works and photographs in Athens, Georgia. Her work revolves around family and the ways in which the camera complicates its mythology; an articulation of photographs as a performance of beings on the ‘inside’. In addition to her photography practice, Reback has worked with the Center of Photography at Woodstock and is currently serving as the photography intern for ATHICA.
