COLLECT, CREATE, PREVENT MORE MATERIAL WASTE

ATHICA is calling on our community to participate in the CHARMing art challenge. This fundraising event will help ensure ATHICA’s continued presence and platform for Athens creatives.
In partnership with the Athens CHARM Recyling center, help us divert materials from the landfill and transform them into masterpieces. Artists will have access to the Athens Area Teacher Reuse Store where materials can be collected and constructed into objects that will be donated and sold for the benefit of ATHICA.
Participate as an artist, attendee, purchaser, or sponsor. The CHARMing Art Challenge will occur December 13, 2025 at 7:00 PM with a fun evening of art, beverages, music, prizes, and the sale of recycled treasures that will highlight the creative ingenuity of our artist community.
Our annual budget is tiny, we are all-volunteer, and we strive to support our community of artists and art lovers with free and accessible opportunities.
- Call for Artists: All are welcome to sign up here today to participate as a CHARMing Art Challenge artist. All participants will have access to the Athens Area Teacher Reuse Store where they can source materials to create anything they desire. All items will be donated and sold for $60 as a fundraising initiative for ATHICA. Perks include contributing to the diversion of items from the landfill, directly supporting ATHICA’s functioning, discounted entry tickets, a purchase coupon, and the chance to win prizes in seven categories, including:
- Best-in-Show: $100 value
- Most Weight Diverted from Landfill: $75 value
- Most Creative: $50 value
- Hometown Hero: $50 value (Athens inspired art)
- I Need That in my Closet: $50 value(Best Wearable)
- I Need That on my Wall: $50 value (Best Hanging/Standing Sculpture)
- Outstanding Young Artist: $25 value (Best under-18 contribution)
- Deadline to enter: November 14, 2025
- Drop-off: December 10, 2025
- Call for Sponsors: Local businesses are sought to help sponsor this event with cash and in-kind sponsorships. More information about sponsorship: info@athica.org
- CHARMing Tickets: You can buy your tickets online. Your $10 donation will ensure your entry to the CHARMing Art Challenge event at 7:00 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
- Volunteer to Help: Volunteers are sought to help with sponsorships, event setup, sales, beverages, music, and event staffing. More information about volunteering: info@athica.org
