Call for Community Participation: Faces of Immigration

From April 16-May 28, members of the Athens community and Northeast Georgia region are invited to contribute a story, photograph, or image that deals with the theme of immigration to an on-going, participation-based project  “Faces of Immigration: Community, Culture, and Conversation about Immigration in America,” that is centrally installed in the ATHICA gallery as part of the exhibition “This Land: Immigration in the United States.”  Submissions may come from personal experience or may be based on that of a family member, friend, or otherwise meaningful relationship and will be part of a collaborative, participation-based installation entitled “Faces of Immigration.” Participants should bring their submissions (2-D, up to 5″ x 7″ ) to ATHICA anytime during gallery hours between now and May 28th.  There is no limit on the number of documents submitted. ATHICA is not libel for damage incurred during the course of the exhibition, and original photographs and heirlooms are discouraged.

Bring your friends and family and share where you come from anytime during gallery hours or come to the opening event on April 16th from 6-8pm. Gallery hours are Thu:1:00 pm – 9:00 pm and Fri – Sun: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
