REALLY BIG ART RALLY to Benefit Ciné and ATHICA

As Athens’ leading independent, non-profit, cultural venues, Ciné and ATHICA provide homes for the creative culture that our area artists, musicians, filmmakers, performers, and writers produce and that contributes to the vibrant community of Athens. Venues and creatives alike have been threatened by the economic impacts of COVID-19; support of this community is more important than ever. In recognition of this shared mission, Ciné and ATHICA are once again joining forces to host their second REALLY BIG ART RALLY (formerly Monster Drawing) as a collaborative fundraising event. Our first-time event in 2019 drew hundreds of artists and art lovers and raised over $10,000 for these worthy non-profits.

Three hour rounds of art-making by 60 artists will produce artworks that are put up for sale. Attendees mingle, watch the art being made, and vie to purchase freshly made artworks for $60 a piece. When two or more want the same work, cards are drawn and the high card holder gets the right to purchase. During the final hour of the event remaining works are sold for half price. Special beverages, a celebrity DJ and MC Didi Dunphy of the Lyndon House Arts Center round out the day.  Tickets are $10 at the door.  All proceeds go to support ATHICA and Ciné.

Up to $10,000 Total Will Be Matched by the James E. and Betty J. Huffer Foundation.
