Port Futures + Social Logistics 02 Screening

April 16 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Annie Simpson (UGA MFA ’22) in conversation with regional artists.

Port Futures + Social Logistics is an international platform for experimental approaches to art, urbanism, and the planetary logistics of energy and material exchange. Founded in 2021 by artists and designers from the Port Journeys and Hyper Cultural Passengers networks, Annie Simpson (MFA ’22), James Enos (LDSOA), and Stephen Ramos (CED), PFSL organizes public programming, develops and disseminates videos from artists and researchers, and hosts a growing archive of commissioned work.

Port Futures + Social Logistics: 02 Screening is part of an international screening tour for the platform’s second exhibition series and features work from over twenty artists-researchers from seven countries around the world. The screening will include locationally grounded short-videos about the cultural, ecological, and logistical dimensions of ports, rivers, wetlands, and the sea in shaping global circulation and contemporary environments. A conversation between Annie Simpson and regional participating artists will follow.

PFSL02 screening locations include Harvard University, Graduate School of Design (Cambridge, MA), Audio Foundation (Auckland, NZ), Zou-No-Hana Terrace (Yokohama, JP), HyCp Veddel (Hamburg, DE), WEP (Groningen, NL), and ATHICA (Athens, GA). PFSL02 is curated by James Enos, Annie Simpson, and Jan Derk Diekema. This project is supported by Art Indeed Foundation, The University of Georgia, & Port Journeys Network.
