ATHICA@Ciné Gallery presents Never Not New – New and Ongoing Works on Paper

“Never Not New” gathers a body of etchings, collaged prints, and monotypes many of which have
lived in various stages of incompletion – works begun during the pandemic that remained paused,
dormant, or unresolved until recently. Returning to these pieces years later, Swindler found that the distance
of time had reshaped his relationship to both the images and the materials that initiated them. What
began as an effort to pick up where he left off quickly became something else: a negotiation between
former intentions and present sensibilities.
