Sonic Space Presents Charmaine Lee (NYC), Marcel Sletten, and Ohmu

Charmaine Lee is a New York-based vocalist and electronics artist whose work explores the extremes of presence, intimacy, and noise. Known for her fierce improvisational approach and use of extended vocal techniques, she has collaborated with artists including Ikue Mori, Conrad Tao, and the JACK Quartet. Her solo sets use feedback, vocal fragments, and real-time processing to create live compositions that are as fragile as they are ferocious. Charmaine is currently on a 50-state, 60-show, 100-day tour around the U.S.
Marcel Sletten is an electronic music producer, composer, writer, and visual artist based in Athens, Georgia. He is the founder, curator, and art director of Primordial Void, an independent music label, and Cosmic Trattoria, a music blog and mix series. He fronts Chairs, a recording project and multimedia art collective featuring members of Organically Programmed and Penny Loafer.

Ohmu is the experimental solo project of Athens, Georgia-based designer and musician Winston Parker. Employing asynchronous loops paired with sample based time stretching and granular synthesis, Ohmu creates ruptured beds of sound grounded by heavy, slow undulating bass lines.
