ATHICA’s Second Annual Juried Exhibition will take place October 8 – November 19, 2016. Featuring juror Annette Cone-Skelton of MOCA GA. Opening Saturday, October 8 from 6-8 pm.
About the Juror
Annette Cone-Skelton, President/CEO/Director/Founder of MOCA GA is highly regarded as one of Atlanta’s most accomplished artists. She has over thirty years of experience as an exhibiting artist, fine arts educator, curator, editor, owner of a fine arts advisory firm and visual arts museum director. She holds a B.F.A. from the Atlanta College of Art, and is included in LaGrange College’s “2006-2007 Wall of Outstanding Alumni.” She received the 2012 Governor’s Awards for the Arts & Humanities, the 2012 Georgia Museum Educator of the Year Award from the Georgia Art Education Association, and the Building Community Day Nonprofit IMPACT Award for Leadership from The Home Depot Foundation and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits. In September 2011, Cone-Skelton was named “Museum Educator of the Year,” by the Georgia Arts Education Association and was recently awarded “Artist that Inspires” by the Fulton County Arts Council in Atlanta. She has served on the Boards of the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts and Culture Coalition (MAACC), as well as on the Leadership Cabinet of Arts Leadership League of Georgia (ALL-GA). In addition, she has served on the boards of Atlanta College of Art, Art Papers, The Contemporary, the Contemporary Art Society of the High Museum of Art, and the Hambidge Center for Arts and Sciences. Currently she is president of the board of directors of the International Women’s Forum Georgia and a member of the Board of Visitors at Emory University.
