New York native and current resident of Alabama, Joe DeVita will be appearing at ATHICA playing multiple instruments and live-looping, incorporating elements of jazz, world music, and ambient music. His music has been featured of BBC Radio, NPR, as well as independent radio and music publications internationally.

Athenian Wyatt Nicholson is “Other Voices, Other Rooms.” After playing bass in various Punk Rock bands Nicholson started DJing under the name “Other Voices, Other Rooms” 20 years ago. DJing led him to buy his first sampler, and from there it was a short leap to analog synthesizers and drum machines. Nicholson uses audio inputs on the synthesizers to filter and warp tape and drum machine sound sources. He’s influenced by House Music, Rap, and the blurry guitars of the Shoegaze era.
