…DJed by Mariah Parker! Best known by her hip hop stage name Lingua Franca, Parker is a local socio-political activist and a featured artist in ATHICA Emerges X. Parker recently completed her Master of Arts in Linguistics at the University of Georgia, where her research focuses on discourse analysis in hip hop. The Empower Hour Dance Party will be a celebration of resistance, an embodiment of community energy, and call to action for change that starts at the local level. Free and open to the public.
