Present the 2018 Lantern Parade

November 13, beginning at 6:00 PM

(ATHENS) The Lyndon House Arts Center and ATHICA have partnered to host the 2018 Lantern Parade, an evening walk between the two locations on Thursday November 12 beginning at 6:00 PM.

ATHICA, now at its new location at the Leathers Building, 675 Pulaski Street, Suite 1200, joins the Lyndon House Arts Center to celebrate our neighborhood arts district with a lantern parade on November 13, 2018.  The parade route begins at the Arts Center at 211 Hoyt Street ending at ATHICA.  The route will go west down Hoyt Street, past the Athens Council on Aging and up the Pulaski Heights Trail for just over half a mile, and return.

The parade will be led by the clown troupe band The Thunder Dreamers, featuring Cal Clements.  All are invited to bring lanterns and flashlights and join the fun. Assembly will start at the Lyndon House Arts Center at 6:00 PM and the parade will commence at 6:30 PM.

Lanterns must be powered by battery, solar, or other flameless light sources. No fire-based, flame lanterns will be permitted in order to ensure the safety of all participants.  All parade participants are advised to carry either a lantern or a flashlight in order to ensure visibility on the parade route.  Please leave pets and bicycles at home.  No motorized vehicles permitted.
