SUMMARY:Jon Swindler: Never Not New | ATHICA @ Ciné Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Jon Swindler \nMarch 10th – April 25th \nReception in conjunction with 3rd Thursday\, March 19th at 6:00 – 8:00 pm \nATHICA @ Ciné Gallery\n234 W Hancock Ave.\nAthens\, GA 30601\nFor hours\, see:  www.athenscine.com \nATHICA@Ciné Gallery presents Never Not New – New and Ongoing Works on Paper \n“Never Not New” gathers a body of etchings\, collaged prints\, and monotypes many of which have\nlived in various stages of incompletion – works begun during the pandemic that remained paused\,\ndormant\, or unresolved until recently. Returning to these pieces years later\, Swindler found that the distance\nof time had reshaped his relationship to both the images and the materials that initiated them. What\nbegan as an effort to pick up where he left off quickly became something else: a negotiation between\nformer intentions and present sensibilities.

SUMMARY:Port Futures + Social Logistics 02 Screening
DESCRIPTION:Annie Simpson (UGA MFA ’22) in conversation with regional artists. \n  \nPort Futures + Social Logistics is an international platform for experimental approaches to art\, urbanism\, and the planetary logistics of energy and material exchange. Founded in 2021 by artists and designers from the Port Journeys and Hyper Cultural Passengers networks\, Annie Simpson (MFA ’22)\, James Enos (LDSOA)\, and Stephen Ramos (CED)\, PFSL organizes public programming\, develops and disseminates videos from artists and researchers\, and hosts a growing archive of commissioned work. \n \nPort Futures + Social Logistics: 02 Screening is part of an international screening tour for the platform’s second exhibition series and features work from over twenty artists-researchers from seven countries around the world.
