Music with Kathryn Koopman, Annie Leeth, and Fourth Mansions: Saturday, December 7, 7:00 PM

Kathryn Koopman is a performer, music educator, and electro-acoustic composer and serves as the music intern and coordinator of musical events at ATHICA. Her works have been performed by Dal Niente Ensemble, Southland Ensemble, Transient Canvas, Bent Frequency Duo, Pie for Two, Safety Second, Rote Hund Muzik, and D@wgbyt3s Electronic Ensemble. She has played in bands and ensembles around Athens that specialize in improv/free jazz, and has led several recording projects and album releases. She is also a founding member and clarinet/bass-clarinet performer in the Athens-based new music ensemble, Incongruency, dedicated to performing and commissioning new works. Fourth Mansions is the combined efforts of Joe Rowe (The Glands), Peter Alvanos (Elf Power) and Bryan Poole (of Montreal). From their hometown of Athens, GA they create insightful, strange, sweet, melancholic, darkly humorous songs delivered with acoustic guitar and bass, keyboard, drums and percussion and vocals that have so far been compared to Donovan, Thom Yorke, Morrissey and “Syd Barrett in a bad mood”.
